    SCIA Open Day: Young Legal Talents from 14 Countries and Regions Visit Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration

    On April 12, 2024, Mylene Chan, a visiting professor at Peking University School of Law, and Horace Wong SC, co-managing director at Rede Chambers, led a group of young legal talents from 14 countries and regions including the United States, Australia, Germany, France, Japan, and Nigeria etc., to visit the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration Qianhai International Headquarters (the SCIA Tower) and the SCIA Futian Financial Securities Arbitration Headquarters (the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Building). During the visit, the group interacted deeply with the staff of SCIA, gaining a thorough understanding of China’s international arbitration innovation and development in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone over the past four decades.

     

    SCIA has been committed to cultivating legal talents with global competitiveness and an international perspective. The next steps will involve strengthening cooperation with well-known universities at home and abroad, promoting the joint construction of practice platforms for international students, and aiding in the cultivation of young international arbitration talents.

     

    SCIA Open Day

    The SCIA Open Day is one of the series of events of the South China Business & Law Forum. By inviting the public to visit the SCIA Tower, the new headquarters of the SCIA located in Qianhai, Shenzhen, this event aims to promote understanding of the commercial arbitration system and services, advocate for the SCIA's principles of independence, impartiality, and innovation, listen to the needs and suggestions of market entities regarding dispute resolution, enhance the quality of dispute resolution services, and promote the development of a market-oriented, rule-of-law-based, and internationalized business environment of high quality, thereby jointly building a global hub for international arbitration.
