SCIA+RAC: China and Russia Deepen International Arbitration Cooperation

April 12, 2024, the Sino-Russian International Commercial Dispute Resolution Seminar co-hosted by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) and the Russian Arbitration Center (RAC) was held at the SCIA Tower in Qianhai, Shenzhen.

This seminar focused on the theme of "The Latest Developments in Sino-Russian Commercial Dispute Resolution", inviting senior lawyers, industry experts, and representatives of arbitration institutions from China and Russia to discuss various aspects such as the Sino-Russian international commercial arbitration system, the role of arbitration in resolving cross-border commercial disputes, the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, and new initiatives in smart arbitration based on specific cases. Nearly 1,400 arbitrators, mediators, in-house counsels, foreign-related lawyers, and university researchers from China and Russia participated in the seminar through online and offline channels.

This event is an important outcome following the signing of the cooperation agreement between SCIA and RAC last July. Since its establishment in 1983, SCIA has fully utilized the functions of international arbitration, which include "cross-border jurisdiction over cases, application of cross-border laws, enforcement of cross-border awards, and sharing of cross-border resources", continuously deepening cooperation and exchanges with world-renowned arbitration institutions such as RAC, promoting the international development of Chinese arbitration, and better serving the dispute resolution of Chinese and foreign enterprises.
